Wednesday 22nd June saw the Imagined Village play live on Radio 2 at Maida Vale as part of the channel’s 2day celebrations, the band played a selection of new tracks, ending on the frenetic “Get Kalsi” and chatted about their upcoming plans
This Sunday 20th May, sees the release of four new Imagined Village tracks on itunes in the UK. The band recorded these tracks for use in the spas that cosmetics chain Lush have opened in Poole, London, and Leeds. If a nice relaxing massage to the sounds of the Imagined Village sound good to you, you should definitely look into a treatment! Simon Emmerson, leader of the Village, was given the task of composing music for four albums worth of music to be played in these spas, and Lush have released this music through their own stores and Amazon UK. If you’re looking for new Imagined Village to tide you over before the release of their next album, be sure you don’t miss this!

May 5th sees the launch of a collaboration between Simon Emmerson and Lush Spas. Simon and various members of the Imagined Village have formed Walking With Ghosts, who will perform specially composed tracks from their album, From Source to Sea created for the Lush Spa at Cecil Sharp House in Camden, London. Support comes from the mysterious FLK (sound familiar?), tickets are £5!

Emmerson, leading light in both The Imagined Village and Afro Celt Sound System, teams up with Lush Cosmetics co-founder Mark Constantine for a set of four CDs that draw deeply on both a love of folk music traditions and bird song. The result is an innovative project, put together partly to act as a sound accompaniment to Lush’s various spa treatments and massages yet also a stand-alone musical pleasure.
Walking With Ghosts, a new band created by Simon especially for this collaboration, will be performing a selection of these spa tracks at Cecil Sharp House in London on Thursday May 5th!
