New Project From Simon Emmerson!

Posted on: March 25th, 2011 by Craig Sparkes No Comments

Simon Emmerson, leading light in both The Imagined Village and Afro Celt Sound System, teams up with Lush Cosmetics co-founder Mark Constantine for a set of four CDs that draw deeply on both a love of folk music traditions and bird song. The result is an innovative project, put together partly to act as a sound accompaniment to Lush’s various spa treatments and massages yet also a stand-alone musical pleasure.

Walking With Ghosts, a new band created by Simon especially for this collaboration, will be performing a selection of these spa tracks at Cecil Sharp House in London on Thursday May 5th!

Folk Against Fascism at London Southbank Sunday 2nd May

Posted on: April 28th, 2010 by Craig Sparkes No Comments

Sunday 2nd May sees the arrival of Folk Against Facism’s Village Fete on London’s South Bank. Imagined Village collaborator Jackie Oates will be on hand, in May Queen attire, to regale passers by with song, friendly chatter, and a new ballistic from our friends at Lush called BTNG (B*ll*cks To Nick Griffin). Those of you who caught the Imagined Village on tour in January may remember Simon Emmerson capturing you on film giving the two-fingered salute to the BNP man. This bath ballistic adopts the same gesture. Come on down!
